Nursery school

Kamakura city, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan

used on interior walls: Biocera

This is a reformed nursery school in Kamakura city, Kanagawa prefecture. This nursery school looks after children ranging in age from 3 months to 1 year.
Takachiho Shirasu’s Shirasu interior materials (Biocera) were used in this nursery school.

The head teacher at the nursery school explained their decision as follows. “One of the things that we are most concerned with is the environment, and we’re especially concerned with maintaining the air and water. When we looked into reforming this nursery school, we looked for natural materials that were made in Japan and that would provide the children with a safe environment, and we found Shirasu-kabe.”

“Whenever I come into this room I feel like I want to take a nap. The atmosphere made by the Shirasu-kabe puts me at ease.” This opinion of Shirasu-kabe was given to us by one of the nursery school teachers.

Shirasu-kabe has excellent functions: humidification and deodorization.
The head teacher at the nursery school also told us that: “The warm atmosphere and peacefulness unique to Shirasu-kabe show how we are thinking sincerely about providing physical and emotional care for not only the children at the nursery school but their parents as well.”
